Decker Computational Genomics Group recruiting a Senior Research Associate
Application and job description at this link: https://tinyurl.com/ywjlah6o

The Decker Computational Genomics Group at the University of Missouri is
recruiting a Senior Research Associate. The Senior Research Associate will
have responsibilities of 1) data analysis, 2) manuscript preparation, 3)
data collection and 4) project management, with a focus on data analysis.
Main data analyses would entail genome- wide association studies, genomic
prediction, and variance estimation; with opportunities to assist with
evolutionary and population genomic analyses. Decker's research group
(https://deckerje.mufaculty.umsystem.edu/home) has various research
interests, combining quantitative genomics, population genomics, and
evolutionary biology. All research projects use computational genomics
approaches. Projects include: Genomic prediction, Mapping loci responding
to selection, Genotype- by-environment interactions, Genetics of fertility,
Genetics of metabolism, Population structure of cattle breeds, and
Demographic modelling. Deckers group has long-term funding supported by
the Wurdack Endowment and several federal grants. The University of
Missouri is an AAU member, Carnegie R1 institution, and one of the most
comprehensive land grant universities in the nation, including agriculture,
veterinary medicine, human medicine, engineering, journalism and law.
Excellent facilities and opportunities for collaboration across the campus,
system and state are available. Office space will be in the Animal Science
Research Center, which houses research and teaching facilities.

A unique attraction is the opportunity to collaborate with our nationally-
recognized researchers in all animal science disciplines, including
genetics, reproduction, and nutrition. Further, the Decker Genomics Group
has an active collaboration with Gui DeSouza in the College of Engineering
working on robotic vision of cattle. The University of Missouri is a leader
in genomic research, with internationally recognized researchers in genome
assembly, genome annotation, comparative genomics, whole-genome sequence
analysis, functional genomics, population genomics, genome-wide association
analysis, genomic prediction, and novel trait development.
