Probability

Within the last two problem sets, you h ave been calculating ratios for both genotypes and phenotypes. These ratios are also called probabilities. However, we can also implement probabilities into other problems. We can figure the probability of a cow if she has 4 calves what the probability be of them all being female?

We also know that the chance of detectinga recessive gene in a bull when crossed with a heterozygous female is 1/4 by calculating a simple punnett square. But, if we cross 4 heterozygous females to the bull, what is the probability of not detecting the recessive trait.
