What's new on the NAGRP animal genome web site (#1, 2006):

o PigQTLdb Update: 471 pig QTL from 20 publications have been added.  As a 
   result the PigQTLdb has 17 new traits (a total of 239 traits now).

o Extension of the PigQTLdb functionality: 
   1) The pig RH-human comparative mapping results by Stacey et al has been 
      integrated; 
   2) The highly contiguous and integrated BAC physical map of the porcine 
      genome from the Swine Genome Sequencing Consortium has also been 
      integrated. 

   These improvements allows users to easily find comparative information 
   from a QTL, or a synthesized QTL region.  There are 2 ways to utilize the 
   functions: 
   a) Use a panel added above the QTL chromosome view, to the right, which 
      allows you to input the upper and lower QTL boundaries in terms of cM; or 
   b) Click on the vertical QTL bars to bring up a popup menu for the links 
      to RH-human maps or to the pig clones.

o A comparative map drawing tool to generate on-the-fly maps has been 
   created.  The tool has been applied to generate maps with the SIAG(SUNbRH) 
   map data (Itoh et al., Genomics, 85(4).

o A database is created for genetic analysis software lists. The database 
   is designed to query by keywords, or browse alphabetically, the content 
   for the ease of finding needed software.
